Data assets
Accumulating data means keeping the field's history
More files do not automatically make a data asset. Explore the context that makes records retrievable, comparable and reusable.
Keep context, not just more files
More images and measurements are hard to reuse if no one can identify their site or date. Accumulating data means preserving the context that lets someone understand it again.
Site, observation point, device, timestamp and unit connect separate records. A usable history depends on being able to link the field across time.
Check conditions before comparing
Two different readings do not, by themselves, prove that the field changed. A device, measurement position or capture condition might also have changed.
Missing intervals, revisions and source records matter too. Understanding these limits helps explain a comparison. Accumulation is about consistent records as well as storage.
Use history as a basis for new questions
When was a change observed? Which records need further review? Accumulated data supports questions that a single report cannot easily address.
FLYLENZ connects collection, reporting and accumulation to create that foundation. Data volume alone does not guarantee accurate predictions or automated decisions. Quality and analysis methods must fit the purpose.
- Keep sites and observation points identifiable.
- Record changed conditions and missing intervals.
- Define the question and who will use the result.
