Real-time reporting

Six steps from field data to the next action

Installing equipment or finishing a flight is only the beginning. Follow the workflow from collection to reporting and reuse.

FLYLENZ editorial

Work continues after collection

Receiving measurements does not finish the job. Teams still need to understand the records, communicate them and keep them accessible for later use.

We describe the workflow in six steps: collection, organization and validation, real-time reporting, accumulation over time, analysis and use, and the next action. The connections between these steps matter as much as individual features.

Report the state of the data too

A current value needs context: when was it updated, and are any intervals missing? Measurement and transmission can have different states.

Real time does not mean zero delay. Collection, transmission and display intervals depend on equipment and communications. Define which information people need and when they need it.

Connect reporting to the next task

A report becomes more useful when the recipient can retrieve the original records and compare earlier conditions. Connecting reports to source data and context supports follow-up review.

Each field has different next steps. FLYLENZ examines where data workflows become disconnected and helps design the flow from collection to reporting and use.

  • Collection and validation connect records to time, location and units.
  • Reporting and accumulation communicate the present and preserve history.
  • Analysis and use support review and the next operational task.
